Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 Facelift: Everything You Need to Know

Mercedes-Benz has launched the facelifted Maybach GLS 600 in India, with prices starting at Rs 3.35 crore (ex-showroom) before options. This updated model features the latest MBUX software, new interior trim options, and an updated powertrain.

Exterior Design

The exterior updates include a slightly tweaked grille and a new bumper with a Maybach logo pattern on the air intakes. The rear features new LED signatures for the tail-lamps and Maybach-specific tail pipes. Standard color options are Black, Polar White, and Silver Metallic, with dual-tone paint shades available as optional extras. The standard wheels are multi-spoke 22-inchers, while the classic deep-dish monobloc 23-inch Maybach wheels are optional.

Interior and Features

Interior updates are minimal but focused on software and trim options. Highlights include a new steering wheel, revised AC vents, the latest-gen MBUX software with new graphics, updated telematics, a fingerprint sensor, and hand gestures for selective commands.

The rear seats remain the highlight, featuring a bench seat with ventilation, massage function, and a recline up to 43.5 degrees. Standard features include an extendable leg rest, a central tablet on the fold-down armrest, twin rear 11.6-inch MBUX screens, a 590W Burmester 3D surround sound system, Maybach-specific ambient lighting, a Level 2 ADAS suite, and Mercedes’ signature Energizing package.

Optional extras include first-class executive seats with a continuous center console, a refrigerator compartment with Maybach-branded champagne flutes, the Manufaktur leather package, and a gloss black dashboard finish with pinstripes.

Powertrain and Specs

The GLS 600 retains the AMG-sourced 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, now producing 557hp and 770Nm of peak torque (an increase of 40Nm). It includes a 48V integrated starter generator that provides an additional boost of 22hp and 250Nm. The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, driving all four wheels via the 4Matic system. Mercedes claims a 0-100kph sprint time of 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 250kph. Standard features include adaptive dampers, with an option for fully active suspension featuring an exclusive Maybach drive mode.


In India, the only direct rival to the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 is the 4.4-litre V8 Range Rover, priced between Rs 3.10 crore and 4.46 crore (ex-showroom), available in both regular and long-wheelbase versions.
