Mahindra Hands Over 1,500 Units of XUV 3XO on First Delivery Day

On the initial day of delivery, Mahindra distributed 1,500 units of the XUV 3XO to buyers throughout India. This milestone reflects the immense response the compact SUV has garnered, with over 50,000 bookings within just an hour when official bookings opened on May 15, 2024. Nearly 70% of these reservations were for the petrol variants, highlighting a significant consumer preference.

Consumer Preferences and Trim Options

Consumers are increasingly favoring petrol variants over diesel, primarily due to the considerable cost difference between the two fuel options. The initial deliveries are focusing on specific variants of the Mahindra XUV 3XO, which is available in nine trims: MX1, MX2, MX2 Pro, MX3, MX3 Pro, AX5, AX5 Luxury, AX7, and AX7 Luxury. Although the MX3 Pro is considered the best value for money, buyers often favor the AX5 and AX5 Luxury models due to their extensive feature sets.

Launch and Pricing

Mahindra launched the much-anticipated XUV 3XO in India in late April 2024, with a competitive starting price of Rs. 7.49 lakh (ex-showroom). This five-seater SUV offers a more premium and feature-rich interior, alongside a refreshed exterior design compared to the older XUV 300.

Waiting Periods and Delivery

The base variants of the XUV 3XO have a lengthy waiting period of up to six months, reflecting their high demand. In contrast, the high-end AX7 and AX7 Luxury trims have a shorter waiting time of about three months. Customer deliveries began on May 26, 2024, across India.

Engine and Performance

The Mahindra XUV 3XO comes with three engine options:

  • A 1.2L petrol engine producing 115 PS and 200 Nm of torque.
  • A 1.2L direct injection (DI) petrol variant delivering 130 PS and 250 Nm.
  • A 1.5L four-cylinder diesel engine generating 117 PS and 300 Nm of peak torque.

Transmission choices include a six-speed manual, a six-speed AMT, and a six-speed torque converter automatic unit, catering to a wide range of driving preferences.

The XUV 3XO is equipped with several first-in-segment features, including a panoramic sunroof and a spacious boot, making it an attractive option for families and adventure enthusiasts alike.
